Helen Ella Viola Moeller Sissel, 86, of Tipton, died peacefully Wednesday morning in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tipton. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until time of the service at the church. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Helen was born on December 20, 1926 and was the daughter of Walter and Clara Stolte Moeller. She attended Bennett Schools and was united in marriage to Lester Eugene Sissel on June 16, 1946 in Tipton, Iowa. Helen was a homemaker, a member of the "Friday Night Gang", a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tipton, and the Ruth Church Circle. Helen is survived by her children; Shelly (Steve) Lundberg of Des Moines, Iowa, Carolyn (Darle) Elkin of Webster City, Iowa, Craig (Cheryl) Sissel of Spanoway, Washington; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Schlueter, Evelyn Sterner, and Neva (Lynn) Phelps, all of Tipton; brothers, Alvin (Marilyn) Moeller of Marion, Iowa and Wally (Pat) Moeller, Tipton. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Luella Phillips and brother, Raymond Moeller. A memorial fund to the Tipton Senior Dining Center and the Trinity Lutheran Church has been established in her memory.
