Howard Hines

Howard Dale Hines, son of Howard Dell and Ina Mae Ehresman Hines, was born on June 24, 1921 in Buchanan, Iowa. Dale, as he was known by, was educated in the Cass Twp #1 Country School. Dale was united in marriage to Arlene Joyce Behrend on June 30, 1944 in Rock Island, Illinois. Dale was a farmer, a butter maker for the Dayton Creamery in Clarence for 15 years and then completed his career as a truck driver for the Iowa Department of Transportation, retiring in 1983. He then found his greatest enjoyment driving cars for Junior Hagerty, owner of Junction Auto Sales in Lisbon. Dale is survived by his wife, Arlene, and his son, Steve, both of Clarence, Iowa; his brother, Roger Hines of Lisbon, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Dale entered his rest on Monday, October 1 at 12:21pm at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Mechanicsville, Iowa. As Dale requested, a graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 pm at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville. His family requests that in lieu of flowers you would contribute to your favorite charity.
