Irene Bruhn

Irene Lena Pundmann, daughter of John Frederick William Pundmann and Judith Louise Bredenwischer, was born on June 12, 1909 in Wentzville, Missouri. Irene attended rural Cedar County Schools. On January 20, 1932, Irene was united in marriage to Nico Bruhn in Davenport, Iowa. Irene and Nico farmed in Cedar County. Irene was a member of the South Bethel United Methodist Church, the UMW, Masonic Guild and the Rochester Homemakers. Irene died on October 15, 2008 in the Willow Gardens Nursing Home in Marion, Iowa at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 3 days. Irene is survived by her very special friends and family Karen and Marshall Blake of Cedar Rapids and her adopted" grandchildren Kirby Blake of Tipton Kyle Blake of Springville and Kamille Kurseth of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and 3 brothers as well as her husband Nico who died on July 27 1971. She will be laid to rest in the Durant City Cemetery next to her husband."
