Irene Laing

Irene Esther Meyer, daughter of Henry and Minnie Meyer was born in Cedar County, Iowa on April 10, 1922. She attended school in Stanwood and Clarence. On December 14, 1944, Irene was united in marriage to George Duncan Laing in Cedar County. She was a farm wife, homemaker and was employed for US Nameplate in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stanwood and attended Red Oak Presbyterian Church in Tipton. Irene is survived by her daughter, Beverly Morden and husband, Harold of Tipton, Iowa; son, Robert Laing and wife, Barbara of Stanwood, Iowa; grandsons, Dustin Morden, Chad and Jeremy Laing; granddaughter, Amy Vrchoticky and husband, Scott; and greatgrandchildren, Austin, Ashley and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Minnie Meyer; her husband, George Laing; son, Gary Laing; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. A memorial has been established in memory of Irene.
