Irene Mae Sander

Funeral services for Irene Mae Sander, 90, of Tipton who died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:0 0 am at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Pastor David Lorenzen will be officiating. There will be a visitation at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 5-7 pm. Burial will be at the Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Irene was born July 3, 1922, in Lost Nation, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry Ferdinand and Maeta Alvina Emma Katrina Erbs Andresen. She was a graduate of Mechanicsville High School and a member of United Church of Christ and Women's Fellowship. On January 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Everette L. Sander in Kahoka, Missouri. Irene devoted her life to homemaking and worked at the Tipton Maid-Rite. Irene is survived by her husband, Everette Sander of Tipton; granddaughters, Debra (Tyler) Rouse of Mechanicsville and Dawn Frey of Clarence; great-grandchildren, Brighton Rouse, Lacey Rouse, Hilary Frey and Kylie Frey; sister, Maxine (Merle) Lehrman of Stanwood; and son-in-law, Steve Boedeker of Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Pat Boedeker on January 29, 2012; and sister, Dorothy Busch.
