Jacqueline Gwen Eaton, daughter of Glenn W. and LaVaughn Eaton, was born June 29, 1938, in Iowa City, and was raised in Tipton, Iowa. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1956 and Iowa State Teacher's College in 1960. She received her Master's in Education from the University of Missouri. Her first teaching assignment was at the Iowa School for the Blind in Vinton. She then taught in northern Iowa until she was accepted by the State Department to teach overseas. Jacqueline taught in Okinawa, Nurnberg, Germany and Izmir, Turkey. She was voted Outstanding Teacher in the European Area and is listed in Who's Who of American Educator's. In 2000, she retired from Cobb County Schools in Marietta, Georgia after a successful 41 years of teaching. Through her stories and experiences, she left a lasting impression on her students and colleagues. Her life was devoted to excellence and inspiring others to achieve the best. Jacqueline is survived by her mother, VaVaughn Eaton, of Newnan, Georgia; her sister, Wendy LeVan, of Newnan, Georgia; and her brother, Glenn L. Eaton, of Tipton, Iowa; 10 nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn W. Eaton, on January 2, 1983.
