James Donald Goatley, Jr.

James Donald Goatley, Jr, 81, of Tipton, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, October 25, 2024 while under the care of the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, Iowa. His wishes were to be cremated and no formal services are planned. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

James was born on October 9, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of James Donald Goatley, Sr. and Elizabeth Elliott Goatley. James was united in marriage to Marilyn Marie Hiller on April 10, 1970. James worked for a musical instrument supplier servicing music store in the upper Midwest. James served his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

James is survived by his daughter, Melissa Goatley, of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marilyn.
