James Lamar

James Erwin LaMar, 42, of Atalissa, Iowa left this earth surrounded by his wife, son and family on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Minneapolis, MN after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. James was born September 14, 1966 in Davenport, Iowa to Larry Foote and Rita (Butterbrodt) Foote. He was a 1985 graduate of Lincoln High School in Stanwood, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Renata R. Roethler on August 4, 1996 at their home near Atalissa. Jim worked as a self employed carpenter prior to his illness. Jim loved his family, friends, pets, and the outdoors and believed in living life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a diehard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He is survived by his wife, Renata LaMar and his 16 year old son, Christopher LaMar at home in Atalissa, Iowa; his mother and stepfather, Rita and David Bilsland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his biological father and stepmother, Larry and Judy Foote of Bettendorf, Iowa; four brothers, Kevin LaMar and wife, Dawn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, John LaMar and wife, Susie of Central City, Iowa, Dennis LaMar, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Stanwood, Iowa, Steven LaMar of Tipton, Iowa; two sisters, Karla Crossen and husband, Mike of Lowden, Iowa, Mary Balke and husband, Rick of Mechanicsville, Iowa; and by 27 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Dennis M. LaMar, Sr.; and his maternal grandmother, Erna Carroll and maternal grandfather, Milo Carroll.
