James “Jim” Marion Reeve, Jr., 63, of Tipton, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children and their spouses after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will take place at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Per Jim’s wishes, cremation will follow, with burial of his remains at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to Iowa City Hospice in gratitude for their compassionate care.

Jim was born April 24, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James Marion Reeve, Sr. and Dolores Ann (Jedlicka) Reeve. He grew up in Tipton with his five siblings - Cindy, Deanne, Mike, Susie, Ruth — sharing a close bond and a childhood filled with neighborhood fun and lifelong friendships.

A 1980 graduate of Tipton High School, Jim was a multi-sport athlete and a proud member of the choir. He earned his degree in business and finance from the University of Iowa and built a respected career as an accountant and partner at Latta Harris in Tipton, working with those he considered great friends.

On March 23, 1984, Jim married Pamela Jo Ehresman, the love of his life. Together they raised three children— Kyle, Kelsie and Nick—and built a home rooted in love, lasting traditions, and joyful memories. Jim coached his kids in sports, attended every game and concert, and never missed a chance to support them. He was a diehard Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and every summer the family took vacations that included ballgames, amusement parks, and cherished time at the Jedlicka family cabin.

Jim loved music—especially classic rock and choir harmonies—and had a knack for remembering lyrics and music trivia. He adored his grandchildren and was known as the fun-loving “Papa,” always ready to play games, splash in the pool, or play ball.

He enjoyed fishing trips with close family, even insisting on one final trip in June 2024 despite his illness. Jim was deeply involved in his community, running the Tipton football scoreboard for over 15 seasons, coaching youth football many years, and serving with the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Tipton Athletic Boosters, and as president of the Tipton Economic Development Corporation.

Jim was a man of faith and a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was known for his generosity, dependability, and love of Christmas—especially filling all the stockings for his family without fail.

Jim is survived by his mother, Dolores Timmerman; his wife, Pam; children Kyle (Jill) Reeve, Kelsie (Gabriel) Boorn and Nick (Emily) Reeve; siblings Cindy (Dale) Kunde, Deanne (George) Robinson, Mike (Shelley) Reeve; Susie Reeve, Ruth (Mike) Clark; and grandchildren Elijah, Lincoln, Everly, Leighton, Lennon, Margo, and Bridget. He was preceded in death by his father, James Reeve, Sr.; stepfather, Lee Timmerman; father-in-law, Tom Ehresman; and grandson, Oliver James Reeve.

Jim will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who knew him.
