In Loving Memory of Jamie Elaine Hamilton
August 7, 1976 – August 3, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jamie Elaine Hamilton, age 48, who left this world far too soon on August 3, 2025. Born on August 7, 1976, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Bruce and Janet (Everhard) Hamilton, Jamie lived her life with a sense of adventure, deep compassion, and a boundless love for those she held dear. From her earliest days—riding Spotty the pony, laughing in the trees with her big brother, and exploring the world around her—Jamie was drawn to the outdoors. That bold, curious spirit stayed with her throughout her life, shaping the way she lived, loved, and explored the world around her. She had a gift for finding beauty in the everyday, joy in the moment, and connection in the quietest corners.
Jamie graduated from Sac City High School in 1993 and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and found purpose in helping others—especially the elderly—with a steady hand and an open heart. Her strength, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Jamie’s presence lit up a room. She had a way of making people feel instantly at ease, like they’d known her forever. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit magnetic, and her heart wide open. She was the kind of person who left people feeling seen, heard, and valued—a rare and beautiful gift.
More than anything, Jamie loved her children—David, Rachel, Rayna, and Johanna—and her soon-to-be son-in-law, Jesse. They were the center of her world. Each one reflected a part of her spirit: her courage, creativity, resilience, and boundless love. She was fiercely proud of the people they were becoming. Her love for them was constant—sometimes quiet, but always deep, always true. They were her greatest joy and her most cherished legacy.
Jamie is survived by her beloved children: David Hamilton (Waco, TX), Rachel Christian (Coralville, IA), Rayna (Jesse Kite) Christian (Columbia, MO), and Johanna Mitchell (Newhall, IA); her parents, Bruce and Janet Hamilton (Mason City, IA); and her brother, Brent (Katrina) Hamilton (Mason City, IA). Also left to cherish her memory are her uncle Micheal Hamilton (Kailua Kona, HI), her aunt Luann (Hamilton) Lockwood (Clear Lake, IA), her nieces, nephew, and many loving cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry and Eileen (Bissey) Hamilton and Raymond and Shelda (Day) Everhard; uncles Lee Hamilton, George Everhard, and Michael Everhard; and her aunt Linda (Hamilton) Price.
A private celebration of life will be held on September 14, 2025, where her family and close friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and hold space for the love and laughter she brought into their lives.
Jamie’s journey on this earth was not without challenges, but no matter how difficult things became, she refused to give up. Through it all, she remained true to herself—vibrant, kind, and brave. She touched many lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
