Janice Ann Rekemeyer

Funeral services for Janice Ann Rekemeyer, age 79, of Tipton who died Thursday, March 14, 2013 will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Peace Church of Christ, Bennett, Iowa with Reverend Tommi Boeder officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 pm at Fry Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to services on Saturday from 10-11 am at Peace Church. Burial will follow at Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the Bennett Legion Hall for friends and family. Memorials may be made to Cedar Manor. Janice was born April 9, 1933 in Davenport, Iowa to Walter and Alvena Henricksen. She married Fred Rekemeyer on December 26, 1951 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. She was a graduate of Davenport Central High School (1951) and worked as a Book Keeper for various companies, including the Lorenzen Insurance Agency and the Sunbury Grain Elevator. Janice loved all homemaking, such as sewing, baking apple pies, crocheting, and gardening. Janice is survived by her faithful and loving husband Fred; her two daughters, Pamela (James) Thompson of Bolingbrook, Illinois and Kim (Andrew) Schweik of Bartlett, Illinois; and grandchildren, Kristin, Stephanie, and John Thompson, and Katelyn Schweik. She was preceded in death by her son, Randall; her parents; and sister, Nelda.
