Joan Louise Robinson-Fandel, 87, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26th at 11:00 am, Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Barbara Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. A private family visitation will be held on Thursday. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established. Louise was born on December 20, 1926 at home in Mechanicsville. She was the second daughter born to Robert and Lavina Shrope Kramer. In September, 1948 Louise was united in marriage to Calvin I. Robinson. They later divorced. In September, 2005 she was united in marriage to Ralph Fandel, Jr. He has preceded her in death. Louise worked for Western Union, the Stanwood Trust and Savings Bank, Gibeaut Insurance, Marion Trust and Savings Bank, Fandel Electric and the Klopp Hearing Aid Center. She loved her home, working with her flowers, and took great pride in her farm, especially her barn, and loved her dog "Minnie". Louise is survived by her daughter, Amanda Robinson-Foust (Dennis) of Belle Fourche, South Dakota and her son, Adam Robinson (Susan) of Mechanicsville; three grandchildren, Sarah Downing (Dan) of Kieler, WI, Dan Robinson of Mechanicsville, IA and McKayla Foust of Belle Fourche, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lavina Kramer, sister, Mary Kramer, and her husband, Ralph Fandel, Jr.
