John L. "Jack" Fraseur, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa on August 1, 2015. Visitation for Jack will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 4-7PM at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:30AM at Tipton's First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Jack, a lifelong resident of Tipton, Iowa, was born December 11, 1925, the son of George L. and Elizabeth (Lee) Fraseur. He had one brother, George, and one sister, Joan (Overholser). Jack graduated from Tipton High School, Class of 1943. He attended Central College in Pella, Iowa for two years. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. On June 15, 1950, Jack married Leona (Lee) Geerdes of Wellsburg, Iowa. Together, they had 3 sons, Randy, Brent & David, and one daughter, Amy. Jack was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge and the First United Methodist Church in Tipton. Jack loved automobiles. He won numerous awards at car shows with the Fraseur "Woody Wagon." Jack was a John Deere and GMC dealer in Tipton for 20 years. He was a lifelong Cedar County, Iowa farmer and local businessman. Jack was known for his work ethic, community involvement and his kind heart. Family was of utmost importance to Jack. He was the true patriarch of the Fraseur family, always involved with the kids and grandkids activities. He was a beloved husband, father and grandparent. He is survived by his wife, Lee; son, David (Alicia) Fraseur of W. Lafayette, Indiana; daughter, Amy Fraseur of Hopkins, Minnesota; sister, Joan Overholser of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Christine Boeve, Andrea Summers and J.R. Skola, Brandon and Vanessa Fraseur, Julia and Joseph Fraseur and Grace Nelsen; and great-grandchildren, Connor Boeve, Cooper Boeve and Evianna Skola. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Randy and Brent Fraseur; and brother, George Fraseur. Jack will be sorely missed.
