Dr. John Francis Krob, DVM, 83, of Tipton, died Friday, February 1, 2013 in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Visitation will be Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 2-5 pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton with Father Ed Dunn and Father David Hitch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. On-line condolences may be left at www.fryfuneralhome.com Dr. John Francis Krob, was born September 23, 1929, in Johnson County, Iowa. He was the son of Milo Joseph and Mayme Elizabeth Murphy Krob. He served his country in the United States Air Force and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. On August 21, 1951, John was united in marriage to Carolyn Jean Rourke in Oxford, Iowa. He practiced veterinary medicine at the Tipton Veterinary Clinic for 38 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton Lion's, IVMA, Moose Lodge, Tipton Golf & Country Club, past president of IVMA District 21 and a member of Delta Tau Delta. John is loved and survived by his wife Carolyn Krob of Tipton, IA; daughters, Cherrie (Robert) Schmidt of Clarence, IA, Mollie (Kevin) Fisher of Mechanicsville, IA, Jonie (Philip) Hook of Vermillion, SD; sons, Maury (Jan) Krob, Larry Krob, Douglas (Teresa) Krob all of Tipton, IA; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and sister, Marilyn (Morrie) Pitlick of Oxford, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gene Krob. A memorial fund has been established in memory of John.
