John Orren Mccabe

John Orren McCabe, 95, of Tipton, formerly of Torrence, CA. died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, Prairie Hills Assisted Living Center in Tipton. Per his wishes there will be no formal service. John was born on November 12, 1917 in Gutherie Center, IA., and was the son of Charles E. and Chella Leora Scott McCabe. He graduated from Guthrie Center High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country from 1941 to 1945. John was united in marriage to Ada Alveretta Clemons on June 6, 1948 in Las Vegas, NV. John worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singers of America (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) for 60 years as well as being a member of the Disabled American Veterans. John is survived by his daughter, T. Charlene Myers and her husband, Larry, of Tipton, IA; son, Charles Vore and wife, Sharon, of Jonesboro, AR.; grandchildren, Ken (Bobbie) Myers of Prairie du Sac, WI., Kelly (Lamai) Myers of Clarksville, TN., and Douglas (Brandy) Myers of Ottumwa, IA.; Great grandchildren, Leo Myers of Clarksville, TN., Marie (Matthew) Neece of Irvine, CA., and Allison (Kaleb) Moore of Baraboo, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada McCabe, on April 13, 2013; his daughter, Chella, who died at birth; and brothers, Lloyd and Wayne McCabe.
