John Joseph Moroney

John "Jack" Joseph Moroney, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Nov. 25, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids after complications from a fall. Visitation for Jack will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, Iowa. Funeral services for Jack will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Fry Funeral Home. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa, and will immediately follow with full military rites. A memorial has been established in Jack's honor. John "Jack" Moroney was born Sept. 26, 1947, the son of Donald and Beatrice (Doyle) Moroney-Vance, in Cedar Rapids. Jack graduated from Bennett High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country for 28 years. Jack then worked for Rockwell Collins for 17 years, retiring Nov. 1, 2014. John "Jack" is survived by his siblings, Richard (Verlynn) Moroney, South Vienna, Ohio, Beverly (Kenneth) Treimer, New Liberty, Iowa, Connie Bauer, Cedar Rapids and Dianne (David) Delever, Wilton, Iowa, Vicki Moroney of Davenport, Iowa and Dennis Vance, Wilton. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother; brother, Gerrald; brother-in-law, LeRoy Bauer; and his niece, Jennifer Moroney.
