Joseph Kirk

Joseph Aloysius Kirk, son of Charles Francis and Honor Loretta Hayes Kirk, was born October 2, 1917 in Bellevue, Iowa. He was a 1935 graduate of Delmar High School and attended Loras College. Joseph was a WWII veteran, serving from 1942-1945, in the United States Army, 15th Field Artillery Observation Battalion, A Battery Sound Survey.On November 29, 1947, Joseph was united in marriage to Lucille Eiler at St. Matthews Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a 50 year member of the Tipton Lion's and belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton. Joseph enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking. Joseph is loved and survived by his wife, Lucille Kirk of Tipton, Iowa; daughter, Vickie (A. Ronnie) Kirk Peoples of Raleigh, NC; son, Robert Joseph Kirk of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Betty (Merritt) Voss of Austin, TX; brother, Harold Kirk of Prairie du Sac, WI; and his special friends on Walters Drive in Tipton. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Joseph.
