Joyce Marian Scherer

Joyce Marian Scherer, 67, of Tipton, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

She was born December 15, 1957, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest Herman Scherer and Mary Frances (Smelz) Scherer. Joyce was a woman of faith and a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Ann Lotarski of Woodbridge, Illinois, and Elizabeth Povse of Cary, North Carolina; and her brother, John Scherer of Washington, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as Mary Salrin, Robert Scherer, Regina Rhodes, and Rosalee Pang.

Visitation for Joyce will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., immediately following visitation. A luncheon will be held afterwards at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Joyce will be laid to rest Monday afternoon, November 24, 2025 at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, located south of Washington, Illinois, and northeast of Morton, Illinois.
