Katheryn Marie Ford-Vance

Katheryn Marie Ford-Vance, 76, long-time resident of Tipton and recently of Muscatine, passed away on September 11, 2017, at the Pearl Valley Nursing Home in Muscatine. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. There will be a time of visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the beginning of the funeral service. Private graveside services will conclude at Shawver Cemetery, rural Tipton. Memorials in Kathy's honor may be directed to Pearl Valley Nursing Home or Heartland Hospice of Muscatine. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Kathy was born on April 5, 1941, in Tipton, Iowa, to Charlie and Mary (Fell) Ford. She graduated from Muscatine High School with the class of 1959. Kathy was married to Albert Delever and they were blessed with two daughters: Wendy and Tammy, before later divorcing. Kathy's early employment years were spent at Louis Rich, Cedar Manor (where she was a CNA), and University of Iowa (EKG Tech). She was most recently employed at Tipton Senior Dining from 1998 until her retirement in 2014. Kathy enjoyed cooking for the diners on Sunday, visiting with some of the fellow diners and she truly adored nearly every client on her West Branch, Meals on Wheels route. Kathy had a gift for wood-working and refurbishing furniture, and also, in her younger years, would weave giant rugs on her loom. Feisty and funny; and known for that ornery smile, Kathy will be remembered and missed by many. Surviving Kathy are her daughters, Wendy (Rex) Brees of Muscatine and Tammy Delever of New York; brother, John Ford of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Sandy Miller.
