Funeral services for Keith Bell, 92, of Tipton who passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, April 7, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Pastor Mario Padilla will officiate. A visitation will take place Sunday, April 6, from 2 PM to 5 PM at Fry Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Keith Eddie Bell was born on January 2, 1922, on the family farm in rural Bennett. He was the youngest of six children born to Eddie and Barbara Lang Bell. Preceding him in death were his parents, his older sisters Edna Bolton and Stella Fortune, and older brothers Delmar Bell and Harold Bell. Remaining is his sister, Boneata Kautz of Cedar Rapids. Keith was a World War II Veteran serving 38 months on active duty in the U.S. Navy Pacific theatre on the U.S.S. Vincennes being honorably discharged as 1st class Machinist's Mate. He farmed after the time served in the Navy. Following retirement, he continued helping on the family farm. Keith Eddie married Ruth Eleanor Eilers on June 6, 1946, and was the father of five children: Jerry Bell, now deceased, father of Brian, Brent and Brad; Eddie and Gerianne Bell from Indiana, parents of Glen, Tony, Josh and Jody; Catherine and Dave Cronin from Michigan, parents of Jennifer and Amy; Paul and Lisa Bell from Pennsylvania, parents of Ethan and Aiden; and Jon and Harriette Bell from Tipton, parents of Austin. They are the grandparents of 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Rio Grande Bible Institute, in memory of Keith.
