Marshalltown

Kevin Harlen Siemsen, 70 years of age, of Marshalltown, Iowa drew his final breath in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in the comfort of his own home with his loving wife Pamela by his side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Fry Funeral Home with a time of visitation held earlier from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Kevin’s memory.

Kevin, son of Harlen Harry and Norma Jean Muirhead Siemsen, was born on January 3, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Kevin graduated from Bennett High School in 1972 and played basketball and ran track for Bennett High School and also was the Salutatorian and a member of the National Honor Society. Kevin graduated from Iowa State University in 1977 with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kevin worked for Amana Corporation in Iowa and in Tennessee until joining Lennox Manufacturing in Marshalltown until his retirement.

Kevin was an avid sports paraphernalia collector – especially Green Bay Packers items. (His ‘shrine’ at work was lost in the damage to Lennox from the tornado that struck Marshalltown on July 19, 2018). He loved reading, bowling, water skiing and crossword puzzles. Kevin loved to travel by car, especially to the Southwest United States just to avoid Iowa winters! He enjoyed watching all sports, especially ISU football and basketball, his beloved Green Bay Packers, and golf.

Kevin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Pamela Elaine Morris Siemsen of Marshalltown, Iowa;  daughters, Angela Siemsen Ruzicka and her husband, Skip, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Brittani Dirks and her husband, Chris, of Marshalltown, Iowa, sons, Johnathan Kokoski and his wife, Jenna, of St. Louis, Missouri and Christopher Kokoski of Louisville, Kentucky, and his sister, Kathy Siemsen Minde of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Connor Cahill, Kelly and Alric Dirks, Jael  and Silas Cuenca, Nicholas, Lily, Grayson and Talitha Kokoski. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Harlen and Norma Siemsen, grandparents, William and Lillian Muirhead and Harry and Dora Siemsen, and his brother-in-law, Michael Minde.
