Klarene Marie (Brown) Cook, 75, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, October 3, 2021 while under the care of Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 6th at 5:00 pm, Tipton Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Lashmit officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established and may be sent to Meloni Griffiths, 900 Garfield Avenue, Tipton, Iowa 52772. Klarene was born on Saturday, December 29, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Roy Albert and Alice Mae Smith-Brown-Sedevic. She was a member of the graduating class of 1964 from Regina High School in Iowa City. On September 28, 1965, Klarene was united in marriage to Sidney John Cook in  Kelly, Wyoming. Sidney and Klarene farmed together for 43 years until Sidney passed away. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic faith. Klarene loved traveling, camping, sewing, cooking, crafting and scrapbooking. She enjoyed endless hours of playing Boggle and other games with her family. In her spare time she loved reading. Klarene is survived by her children; Ronald (Amy Merfeld) Cook, Teresa (Russ) Voss, Denise Cook, Meloni (David) Griffiths, Timothy (Angela) Cook, Mindy (Jeff) Otten, Travis (Katelynn) Cook, sisters; her twin sister, Korrene Greenwald, Donna Peer, Joni (Mike) Corbett, brothers; Dick Sedevic, David Sedevic, John Sedevic; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Sidney on November 17, 2008), grandson, Payton Cook, brother, Thomas Sedevic and her brother-in-law, Larry Peer.
