Lavern Herman Carl Doermann, son of Charles Ernest & Minnie Sophie Brinkman Doermann, was born May 9, 1927, in Tipton, Iowa. He was a 1945 graduate of Tipton High School. Lavern served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Anker Marilyn Muchow in Nashua, Iowa. He was a retired Sign Crew Supervisor on Secondary Roads in Cedar County. Lavern was a member of the VFW Post 2537 in Tipton. He is survived by his sons, David Michael Doermann & wife, Lanelle of Sabula, Iowa and Thomas Edgar Doermann & wife, Cindy of Tipton, Iowa; daughter, Sally LeeAnn Christophersen & Greg Beck of Davenport, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Vera Eiben of Wheatland, Iowa, Darlene Horman & husband, Raldo of Tipton, Iowa and Mary Louise Horman & husband, Harold of Lowden, Iowa; brother, Erwin Doermann & wife, Dorothy of Tipton, Iowa; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Doermann of Morley, Iowa and Leona Doermann of Mechanicsville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Minnie Doermann; his wife, Marilyn Doermann on July 20, 2004; brothers, Eric & Melvin; and brother-in-law, John Eiben.
