Leland A. Heick Age 70, of Tipton died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial with military rites by the Tipton VFW Post #2537 will be at the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26 at the Fry Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Leland Heick memorial fund; online condolences may be sent to his family at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Leland Arnold Heick was born on June 4, 1935 in Tipton the son of George E. and Thelma M. Morningstar Heick. Lee was 1953 graduate of Tipton High School and served his country in the United States Army. For many years Lee farmed northwest of Tipton, following his retirement from farming he worked as the custodian for the Tipton VFW and in the ground maintenance at the Tipton Golf & Country Club. Lee was a member of the Tipton VFW Post 2537, the Tipton Moose Lodge and a past member of the Tipton Golf & Country Club. He is survived by one sister, Beverly Conner and husband, Floyd of Mediapolis, Iowa, two brothers, George Heick and wife, Doris of West Branch, Iowa, and Paul Heick and wife, Margaret of Iowa City, Iowa along with several nieces and nephews.
