Linda Gay Eliason (September 25, 1946 – July 17, 2024)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Gay Eliason, a dedicated nurse whose compassion and unwavering commitment touched countless lives. Linda’s journey was one of service, empathy, and healing—a legacy that will forever resonate within our hearts. Linda passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was 77.
Linda Gay Eliason was born on September 25, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Frances Moylan and Mary Louise Richards. Linda graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. She pursued her love of nursing, through St. Luke’s Hospital where she was certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Linda was united in marriage to Gregory Charles Eliason in Longmont, Colorado. Later, Greg and Linda divorced, but their love remained for their beautiful family.
Linda is survived by her children, Katherine (Joey) Black of Ankeny, IA, Chris (Jill) Timmerman of Lady Lake, FL, Cody Eliason of Tipton, IA, Kevin (Mindy) Eliason of Atkins, IA, Catlin Eliason of Altoona, IA, and Kyle Eliason of Altoona, IA; sisters, Carol (Mike) Thomann, Dianne (Dwight) Glenney; brothers, Marty Moylan, Don (Lisa) Challis, Ron (Maggie) Challis, and Dean (Ruth) Challis; and eight wonderful grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Tipton’s First United Church of Christ in Linda’s honor on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11 AM. Visitation will precede the service from 9 AM to 11 AM. A luncheon will be held at the church at noon, followed by graveside services at Red Oak Cemetery where Linda will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked you to kindly honor their mother by sending any desired donations on behalf of Linda to Friends of the Animals or Red Oak Grove Presbyterian Church and Cemetery, both located in Tipton, IA.
