Tipton

Lisa Kay Gallagher, 56, of Tipton, Iowa, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 28th, 2021, at Prairie Hills in Tipton, IA, from Alzheimer’s. No services will be held at this time, as Lisa will be cremated and at a later date, buried with her mother and father in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com Lisa began her life journey on Tuesday, February 9th, 1965 in Clarence, Iowa, where she was born to Jerrel Clark and Alice Ann (Bolton) Gallagher, their youngest. She graduated from Tipton High school in 1983 and graduated from the University of Iowa. Lisa had a gentle spirit and brought a kind, compassionate heart to her life, with a quick wit that followed with much laughter and smiles when she was with her family, friends and coworkers. She enjoyed working at KCRG in Cedar Rapids which she talked about often. Lisa was gifted many talents, from athletics to the Arts. She enjoyed playing softball throughout her life, making great friends along the way and also played volleyball, golf and basketball. She also had a beautiful gift of music both playing trombone and singing, and a special gift of photography. Lisa will be terribly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and will keep her in their hearts and memories. Her journey with Alzheimer’s, like many, diminished and cut short her life well before her death. Through the care of her family, especially her sister Lynn, the staff at Prairie Hills and hospice team, she wasn’t alone and was deeply loved. She is survived by her mother, Alice Ann Gallagher of Tipton, IA; sister, Lynn Gallagher of Iowa City, IA; brothers, Tim Gallagher of Minneapolis, MN and Terry (Sharon) Gallagher of Watertown, MN; niece, Rachel (Ivan) Lopez Cortes and a great niece. Lisa was preceded in death by her father. The family asks that cards and memorials be mailed to Lynn Gallagher, 260 N. Scott Blvd., Unit 311, Iowa City, IA 52245. Memorials will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
