Lois Lorene (Yock) Hartig, 90, of Tipton, IA, lost her battle with cancer and entered eternity in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 10, 2021, while at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. On Wednesday, October 13, 2021 the First United Church of Christ, Tipton will host a Visitation at 10:00 am and Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Kerri Sandusky, at 11:00 am. Immediately following the funeral service, Lois will be laid to rest at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery and a luncheon will be held at the United Church of Christ around 12:30 pm. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. In memory of Lois, three Memorial funds have been established for; Camp Courageous, the United Church of Christ, Tipton, IA, or the Charity of your choice. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Beverly Lawrence at 3485 Standlea Rd. in Toddville, IA 52341. Lois, daughter of Frank V. and Margaret E. (Bauman) Yock, was born on Wednesday, April 29, 1931 in Cushing, IA. She attended Clarence High School and graduated with the Class of 1949. On December 1, 1949, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Hartig in Martelle, IA. Lois was a bookkeeper for Davis implement for 34 ½ years and was a hard-working devoted wife and mother, most known for her sweet personality, great sense of humor, listening skills and adventurous spirit. She could also be stubborn at times, but always for a good reason. Lois worked full time, but still had time to come home and can vegetables she had grown in her garden. She loved the CUBS and camping. When camping, she enjoyed playing cards and relaxing in nature. She was a great cook and baker; most known for her homemade meals, coffee cakes, cinnamon rolls with raisins, fresh bread and pizza dough. In her later years, Lois liked to color, play the card game, ‘Double Down’, and watch live stream church services on her iPad. Lois is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Patrick) Lawrence of Toddville, IA and Janice (James) Welch of Austin, TX; son, Gary (Dawn) Hartig of Tipton, IA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret; husband, Robert; sisters, Baby Rae, Reva VonMuenster, and Hazel VonMuenster; and her brother, Robert Yock.
