Louis J. Hillmann, 77, formerly of Bennett, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at West Wing Nursing Home in Dewitt. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow at Inland Cemetery in Bennett. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Fry Funeral Home. Louis was born on Jan. 10, 1938, in Davenport, and was the son of Carl and Amelia Grell Hillmann. He was united in marriage to Sue S. Rekemeyer on April 2, 1966, in Davenport. Louis was a farmer for most of his life, and after his retirement from farming, he worked for 15 years for Farm Service in Calamus (Iowa), and then River Valley Cooperative. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, and the Deer Valley Collectors, where he refurbished antique tractors, as well as a member of Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett. Louis is survived by his wife, Sue, Eldridge; daughter, Jennifer (Tom) Nagle, Long Grove; son, Jon (Stefanie) Hillmann, Long Grove; grandchildren, Kylie, Koby and Madilynn Hillmann, and Kora and Kami Nagle; and his sister, Delores Rohlf, Tipton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Hillmann; his sister-in-law, Peg Hillmann; and his brother-in-law, Eugene Rohlf.
