Luella Banks

Luella Cecelia Gesme, daughter of Melvin and Nora Url Gesme, was born December 30, 1912 in Hanlontown, Iowa. Lou, as she was known, graduated from the Tipton High School in 1931. She was married to Max Morgan Banks in Tipton, Iowa. Lou was a secretary for the Donohue Insurance Agency for many years, was a member of T.T.T. and the First United Church of Christ in Tipton. Surviving is her daughter, Sharon (Mrs. Bill) Deitrich of Laguna Hills, California; son, Joel (Joyce) Banks of Trophy Club, Texas; grandson, Jeffery Banks and step-grandson, Adam Deitrich. Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Max, who died on October 17, 1964. A general memorial fund has been established in her memory. Luella will be remembered with a graveside memorial service on Saturday, September 29th at 1:00pm at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are invited to meet at Fry Funeral Home at 12:30 pm for the procession to the cemetery or you may feel free to meet us at the cemetery prior to 1:00pm.
