Luella Winterfred Catherine Schwitzer Sissel Goodale, daughter of William Edward & Alma W. Werner Schwitzer, was born February 11, 1912, in Tipton, Iowa. Luella attended Tipton Schools. On September 12, 1929, Luella was united in marriage to George W. Sissel, Sr. She married Gaylor Goodale on June 27, 1953. Luella was a devoted housewife and was also employed as a nurses aide and a waitress. Luella is survived by her sons, Melvin L. Sissel, and wife, Helen, of North Bend, NE, George E. Sissel, Jr., and wife, Peggy, of DeWitt, IA and John R. Sissel, and wife, Darlene, of Anamosa, IA; ten grandchildren, Robin, Kirk, Mark, Clint, Wayne, Kyle, Darrol, Valrine, Brian and Belinda; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Kiefer, and husband, Ronald, of West Liberty, IA; and a brother, Werner D. Schwitzer, and wife, Helen, of Minnetonka, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Alma Schwitzer; both her husbands, George Sissel and Gaylord Goodale; three great-grandsons, Aaron, Joshua and an infant baby, Wiggins; brothers, John, Russell and Orey; and sisters, Marion Kula and Genevieve Leighty.
