Luva Jean Petersen

Funeral services for Luva Jean Petersen, 94, of Tipton who died Sunday, December 2, 2012 will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Pastor Steve Schmaljohn will be officiating. There will be a visitation at Fry Funeral Home from 10:00 - noon, prior the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to VSCC or Meals on Wheels in memory of Luva. On-line condolences may be shared at www.fry funeralhome.com. Luva was born April 12, 1918, in Cedar County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Sophia "Peggy" Wendt Beaver. She attended Cedar County Country School in Tipton. On February 28, 1940, Luva was united in marriage to Elmer "Jake" Raymond Petersen at the Rochester Methodist Church. Luva is loved and survived by her daughters, Rita Harbaugh and Marsh Armitage both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Glenn (Debbie) Petersen of Waterloo; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Luva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jake Petersen; grandsons, George Ivan Armitage, III and Chad Elmer Armitage.
