Mabel Ellen Lamp, 101 of Tipton, entered eternal rest August 26, 2016 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Friend and family may gather on Tuesday, August 30 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home for a time of visitation. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016, 10:30 am, also at Fry's with Interment to follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Mabel may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Tipton, Iowa City Hospice, Tipton Senior Dining or Cedar Manor. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Mabel was born on September 9, 1914 in Cedar County, Sugar Creek Township to George and Millie (Osborn) Laucamp. She attended Rural Cedar County Schools through the 8th grade while working for her father on their farm. Mabel was united in marriage to the late John "Freddie" Lamp in 1937. They made Tipton their home where they raised their 5 girls: Maggie, Millie, Elaine, Patricia and Marilyn. Mabel's employment years began while raising their children; ironing and washing, sewing and cleaning houses for others also kept her days full. Mabel later joined Lamp Motor Company where she worked with her husband as the bookkeeper until they retired. Mabel enjoyed gardening, fruit, vegetables and flowers, especially her American Beauty Red Roses. Surviving Mabel are her daughters, Maggie (Chet) Christianson of Anthem, AZ, Millie Manatrey of Sterling, Ill, Elaine Holden of Surprise, AZ, Patricia Harvey of Sunland, CA, Marilyn Mathias of St. Charles, Ill; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren. Entering eternal rest prior to Mabel were her husband, parents, parent in laws, sisters, brothers, son-in-law, Arlyn Holden and grandson, Bart Holden.
