Malcolm Lyle Emrich, 76, of Tipton, died Monday, March 2, 2015, Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 7 at 10:30 am, First United Church of Christ, Tipton. The Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Burial and military honors will follow in Woodbridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Iowa. A time of visitation will begin at 9:30 until the time of service. Lyle was born on December 24, 1938 in Buchanan, Iowa and was the son of Marion Clifton Emrich and Antoinette Stepanek Emrich. Lyle graduated from Tipton High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Lyle was united in marriage to Janice Elaine Anderson on October 29, 1961 in Tipton. They later divorced. He later married Gwendolyn Leaf who died on July 15, 2013. Lyle was a farmer and a machinist, a member of the American Legion, Farm Bureau and the First United Church of Christ in Tipton. Lyle is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kim Emrich of Vinton, Iowa; grandchildren, Brandon (Kaitlin), Allison and Cole; great-grandson, Jack Emrich; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ron Petersen of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother, Ronald Emrich of Mechanicsville; and sister-in-law, Betty Emrich of Tipton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teri in 1984, his parents, his wife, Gwendolyn, his brothers, Melvin Douglas Emrich, William Russell Emrich, Horace A. Emrich, and Clifton Emrich, Jr.; sisters, Nicki Brown and Gladys Harden.
