Margaret Bender

Margaret Peg" Bender was born to Charles and Nell Broderick Plank on May 11 1908 in Tipton Iowa. She attend school in Tipton. Peg was united in marriage to John Smith Bender on June 1 1933 in Tipton Iowa. She worked at Smith's Ready to Wear for 35 years until retirement in 1979. Peg was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton and St. Regina's Circle. Peg is survived by her two daughters Jerri Daebelliehn and husband Rod of Tipton Iowa and Jean Swofford and husband Perry of Gladstone Missouri; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John Smith in November of 1974; son Chuck Bender on October 29 2006; and sisters Eleanor Dice Mary Jane Modracek and Josephine Sheets. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church in memory of Peg."
