Martin Harry

Harry Lee Martin, 80 of Candy Mountain Road, Murphy, NC died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at his home. He was a native of Cedar County, Iowa and a graduate of Muscatine High School. He was a WWII US Army Veteran, serving on Guadalcanal and a life long member of the VFW. He was a retired electrical contractor, known in the Quad Cities for over 30 years and a member of the IBEW. He was the son of the late Joseph Selden Martin & Lois Darting Martin of Tipton. He married Alta Delight Sterner of Tipton in 1947. Harry is survived by his wife, Alta Martin of Murphy, NC; his sons, Joseph V. Martin & wife Claire of Peoria, AZ, Michael A. Martin& wife Roberta of Dubuque, IA and Gary L. Martin of Chandler, AZ; two dauthers, Linda McConnell of Iowa City, IA and Pamela Gay & husband Robert E., Jr. of Kennesaw, GA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William Martin of Spartanburg, SC; and his sistrs, Lucille Meiresonne of Wilmette, IL, Mary Hagens of Muscatine, IA, Josephine Rostenbach of Bettendorf, IA, Ann Jean of Buena Park, CA & Dayle Martin of Coralville, IA.
