Marvin "Dutch" Lamar Williams

Marvin "Dutch" Lamar Williams, 87, of Tipton, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 6:42 am at the home of his granddaughter, Jennifer Redlinger, where he made his home since his health declined. Private family graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tipton with the Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. He will be given full military rites by the Tipton VFW and Tipton American Legion. Dutch's family will receive friends at Fry Funeral Home from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday morning. A general memorial fund has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the VFW at noon on Thursday and all are invited to attend. Dutch was born on June 9, 1930 in Cedar Valley, Iowa, son of Roy and Ethel Pierce Williams. Dutch was married to Kathleen 'Smokie' Clements from 1952 to 1977 and then Mary White from 1978 to 2001. Dutch worked with tire sales most of his life. During his life he managed Jensen Oil Company, sold tires for Brad Ragan and Olderog Tire, and then managed the Cedar County Co-op Service Station for over 30 years. Dutch served his country in the US Navy from 1952 to 1955. He was a faithful member of the Tipton Bible Church. Dutch is survived by his sons, Mike (Linda) Williams of Dike, Iowa, and Mark Williams of Miami, Florida, Charles (Rae) Williams of Tipton, Iowa; his sister, Bernice Ray of West Liberty, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents (Roy and Ethel), son Craig Williams, both wives (Smokie and Mary), two brothers (Eugene and Ted) and two sisters (Margie and Betty).
