Mary Ward

Mary was born at the family home near Mechanicsville, Iowa, on September 7, 1916, to Edward F. and Cecilia O'Malley Walshire. Mary graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1934, and attended one year at the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, before returing to care for her father and family home. She married James Jack" Ward on November 191938.0 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mechanicsville. Mary was a homemaker active in the community and in her parish life. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests with her husband as well as with neighbors and friends. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years Jack of Tipton Iowa; four children daughter Jacqueline Anne Freese & husband Fred of Waterloo Iowa; sons Clement Ward & wife Mimi of Stillwater Oklahoma John Ward of Muscatine Iowa and Kevin Ward & wife Norma of Iowa City Iowa; nine grandchildren; brothers Paul Walshire of Cedar Rapids and Cecil Walshire of Palm Desert California. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward & Cecilia Walshire; a daughter Mary Katherine "Kay" Ward; and two brothers John Walshire and Edward "Ted" Walshire."
