Max Phelps

Max Russell Phelps, son of James O. & Esther M. Sharpless Phelps, was born May 25, 1918, in Central City, Iowa. On February 11, 1936, Max was united in marriage to Ruby I. Fulwider, in Anamosa, Iowa. He was a farmer and owner/operator of Phelps' Insurance in Tipton. Max is survived by his sons, Doug Phelps, of Iowa City, Iowa and Kerry Phelps & wife, Kit, of Tipton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 3 geat-grandchildren; a sister, Naomi Wehde, of Tipton, Iowa; and a brother, Gene Phelps, of Tipton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Esther Phelps; his wife, Ruby Phelps, on Janurary 17, 2004; a sister, Carrie Etta;a brother, Dale Phelps; and daughter-in-laws, Karen Phelps and Della Phelps.
