Norma Brendes

Norma Dorothy Brendes, daughter of Chris & Emma Horn Kline, was born January 30, 1909 in Clarence, Iowa. She attended Clarence schools while growing up. On April 1, 1928 Norma was united in marriage to Elmer Brendes in Clarence, Iowa. She worked as a bookkeeper and was co-owner of Brendes Farm Equipment. Norma was a member of First United Church of Christ in Tipton. Norma is loved and survived by her daughter, Shirley Edler & husband, Edwin of Tipton, Iowa; granddaughter, Pam Swarts of Marshalltown, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris & Emma Kline; her husband, Elmer Brendes on September 21, 1983; her son, Robert Brendes in 1936; sister, Selma Robinson; and brothers, Elmer Klein and Lawrence Kline. Memorials may be made in honor of Norma to the First United Church of Christ or Cedar Manor Nursing Home.
