Norma Kay Hopkins was born on March 4, 1943 in Newton, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Arlene Stoner Hopkins. She attended Colfax Schools and worked at the Rising Sun Stables in Pleasant Hill. Norma loved horses and working with them. Her children and especially her two grandaughters were the love of her life. Norma moved to Tipton two years ago to be closer to her son. Her family includes a daughter, Tammy Sample of Des Moines, three sons, Scott Flora of Fort Madison, Bart Flora and Danny Flora and wife, Annette all of Tipton, Iowa, grandaughters, Taylor and Bailey Sample of Des Moines, three sisters, Dorothy Talbot of Grinnell, Iowa, Katheryn Fults of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Judy Larson of Winona, Minnesota, three brothers, Fred Petrie and wife, Naomi and Raymond Hopkins all of Kellogg, Iowa, Joe Hopkins and wife, Linda of Georgetown, Texas and her step-mother, Rachael Evans of Kellogg, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ronald and one son Brett.
