Norman L Seligman

Norman Laverne Seligman, 82, of Tipton, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:00 am, Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa. All friends and family are welcome. A memorial fund in Norman's honor has been established. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Norm was born on December 8, 1933 in Edgington Township, Illinois to Harry and Marcelle (Oudot) Seligman. He attended Muscatine County Schools. Norman was united in marriage to the late Marilyn May Dettman in October of 1953. Together they were blessed with 4 children: Judy, Steve, Ned, Paula. Dairy farming and carpentry work kept Norm busy for most of his employment years. Spending time with his family, especially his Grandkids; made Norm the happiest. He also liked to visit with his friends and allow time for an occasional afternoon of fishing. Norm was on the Inland Cemetery Board for several years. Surviving Norm are his children, Judy (Doug) Beuthien, Ned (Linda) Seligman and Paula (Brian) Garrels; sisters, Francis Pahl, Rosie (LeRoy) Moeller; brothers, Andre (Norma) Seligman, Robert (Fern) Seligman, Glen (Janice) Seligman; sister-in-laws, Charlotte Seligman, Dorothy Seligman; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Beuthien, Steven Fox, Garrett Seligman, Lindsay Fox, Will Seligman; 5 great-grandchildren, Mason, Liam, Quentin, Kennadi Fox, Memphis Schickling. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Steve Seligman; sister, Yvette Seligman; brothers, Rene Seligman, George Seligman, Harry Seligman Jr.; sister-in-laws, Evelyn Seligman-Cracker, Ella Marie Seligman, Bonnie Seligman.
