Patricia L. Phillips, 78, of West Liberty, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, while under the care of Hospice in her daughter’s home in Tipton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Atalissa Fire Department in Atalissa, Iowa. Pat, daughter of Melvin Piper and Glenis June Connor, was born on February 16, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa. She was raised by her grandmother, Mae Johnson, in Eddyville, Iowa, and later moved to Muscatine, where she met her future husband, David Phillips. Pat was a member of the Class of 1964 and married David on September 6, 1964. Together, they raised three daughters.
From 1988 to 1995, Pat and David owned and operated the University of Atalissa Bar in Atalissa. Pat loved gardening, home decorating, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, David, of West Liberty; her three daughters: Brenda VanDusen and husband Rick of Atalissa, Jody Fuller and husband Dan of Blue Grass, and Paula Phillips of Tipton; her sister, Ruth Stauffer of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her grandmother, parents, and brother, Jack Connor.
