Patricia L. Powers, 87, of Tipton died January 9, 2024, at Cedar Manor Nursing home in Tipton following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 am, Thursday, January 18, 2024, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton. Burial: St. Mary’s Cemetery, the Reverend Father James Flattery will officiate at the services.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 7 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:00 pm.

Patricia married Frederick Powers on January 7, 1956. They were married 68 years. Surviving is her husband, Fred, 4 children, Kathleen (Stephen) Beardsley, Cedar Rapids, Debra Powers & Fred Perez, Cedar Rapids, Michael (Vickie) Powers, Bennett, Sheila (Todd) Pollock, Marion, 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, a brother Alan Dunn, Winchester, VA, sisters in law, Colleen Weber, Monticello, Aletha Panek, Marion. Brothers in law Cloy (Marilyn) Powers, Chicago, IL, Clayton (Fran) Powers, Clifton, NJ.
Patricia L. Powers was born March 17, 1936, in Cascade, IA the daughter of Elmer H. and Mary C (Dolphin) Dunne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, M. Blanche Dunne and Mary G. Dunne, brothers Paul, Glenn (Jean), Donald and Orland (LaVern). Sister-in-law Loretta Dunne, Brother-in-law Delbert Weber.
She was a lifelong partner in the farm & New Liberty Elevator. She spent her life serving others working in local hospitals, nursing homes and Bennett Community School. She served as an EMT for Bennett Ambulance for 10 years, as a Cedar County Board of Health member for 18 years. She was a St. Mary’s Parish member for 62 years and the President and officer in the Davenport Diocese Council of Catholic Women.
