Pearl Loraine Motz, 92, of Tipton, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, from 2:00-4:00 pm, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Graveside services will immediately follow at Inland Cemetery, Bennett. A memorial fund in Pearl's honor has been established. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Pearl was born to Frank and Mary (Wilson) Heick on March 31, 1924 in Cedar County. She attended school in Cedar County and for a while in Muscatine County. Pearl was married to Maynard Hubler on August 25, 1941 in Kohoka, Missouri. They later divorced. Pearl then later married Donald Motz Sr. in Bolivar, Missouri on August 15, 1984. They resided in Lebanon, MO for 8 years until Donald passed away, Pearl then moved to Tipton. For a time she worked for Motz T.V. in Bennett and also did janitorial work in the Bennett School, retiring in 1978. Pearl enjoyed family time, putting together jig-saw puzzles, cross words and collecting a variety of items. She especially enjoyed her pet cat, "Captain Baber." Surviving Pearl are her daughters, Martha (Bob) Meader, Phyliss (Dave) Albang, Marjorie Hubler, Marilyn (Tom) Davis, Colleen Haley; son, Ronald Hubler; step-children, Connie (Bob) Boene, Donny Jr.; sister, Dorothy Ladehoff; brother, Marion Heick; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; son, Gene; daughters, Margaret Motz and Arlene Ford; 3 brothers, 2 sisters; grandchildren, Kevin Ford and Patty (Wright) Ford.
