Richard (Mr.B) Burnett

November 18, 1923 — April 20, 2004

Richard Warren Burnett, son of Clyde J. & Alma B. Dvorak Burnett, was born November 18, 1923, in Plymouth, Michigan. He was a 1943 graduate of Lisbon High School. Richard continued his education at N.E. College in Kirkville, Missouri and received his Masters from the University of Colorado. Richard served in the Merchant Marines. On June 30, 1979, Richard was united in marriage to Grace Bette" Elizabeth Tenley in Stanwood Iowa. Richard was a Shop Industrial Arts school teacher teaching at Calamus for 3 years and S.E. Jr. High in Iowa City for 20 years. He operated a private business teaching drivers education and was coordinator for Kirkwood Communty College in Iowa City. He was a member of N.E.A. Richard is survived and missed by his wife Grace "Bette" Burnett of West Branch Iowa; his son Jim Burnett & wife Celine of Dayton Ohio; his daughters Deb Moffit & husband George of Tipton Iowa; and Dawn Rowold & husband Steve of Tipton Iowa; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde & Alma Burnett."
