Robert Laing

Robert G. Laing, 56, of Stanwood, Iowa, died Monday, July 06, 2009 in his home from cancer. The son of George and Irene Meyer Laing, Bob was born on October 4, 1952 in Iowa City, graduated from Tipton High School and worked for the Cedar County Coop in Tipton for 25 plus years. Bob was united in marriage to Barbara M. Wulf on June 4, 1994 in Tipton. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Laing of Stanwood; his daughter, Aimey (Scott) Vrchoticky of Tiffin, Iowa; Sons, Chad Laing of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Jeremy Laing of Stanwood; step-sons, Dan Shaffer of Durant, Iowa, Mike Shaffer of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; and Craig Shaffer of Stanwood, Iowa; sister, Beverly Morden of Tipton and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Laing. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Bob.
