Robert Charles Meinholdt, son of Charles C. and Rose Kugler Meinholdt, was born on December 18, 1914 in McFarland, Kansas. He attended school in McFarland. Robert was united in marriage to Bernice Louise Eilers on February 22, 1940 in Clarence, Iowa. Robert devoted his life to farming, retiring in Tipton in 1981. He was a former member of Red Oak Presbyterian Church, the Tipton Bible Church, Cedar County Farm Bureau and the Tipton Lions. Robert is survived and loved by his daughter, Roberta (Bertie) Ballou and husband Kenneth of Rochester, New York; his son, Thurly William (Bill) Meinholdt and wife Sharon of Coal Valley, Illinois; grandchildren, Robert Meinholdt, Beth Meinholdt and Barbara Meinholdt Scott; great grandchildren, Audrey, Bailey and Brianna Meinholdt; his sisters, Helen Logan of Lawrence, Kansas and Esther Akers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his brothers, Leo Meinholdt of Murphy, North Carolina, George Meinholdt of Lawrence, Kansas, Lewis Meinholdt of Bethany, Missouri and Frank Meinholdt of Wamego, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rose Meinholdt; his wife, Bernice Meinholdt on May 14, 2003; and his sister, Josephine Piel.
