Robert "Bud" R Burkett

Robert “Bud” R. Burkett, 85, of Tipton, was found to have died alone in his home, on Tuesday, March, 10, 2020, during a follow-up welfare check by the Tipton ambulance director and Tipton police.

A graveside committal service will be Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1:00pm, at the Stanwood City Cemetery, Stanwood.

Robert (Bud), son of Raymond and Amelia Meach Burkett, was born on November 22, 1934 in Cedar County Iowa. Bud graduated from Tipton High School with the Class of 1953. Initially, Bud worked in the Chicago area as a factory worker, but later moved back to Tipton, to take on the role of dedicated caretaker for his mother until her death in 2001. Being an only child and having never married, Bud lived alone the remainder of his life.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Edgar Burkett in 1989 and his mother Amelia Marie (Meach) Burkett in 2001.
