Ronald James Emrich

Ronald James Emrich, 79, formerly of Tipton, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 am, Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Fry's and also on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the time of service. Burial and concluding graveside rites will be held at the Woodbridge Cemetery with full military honors. A memorial fund has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com. Ron was born on October, 31, 1935 in Buchanan, Iowa and was the son of M. Clifton and Antoinette Marie Stepanek Emrich. Ron graduated from Tipton High School in 1953 and attended the University of Iowa. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was very proud of his service to our country. Ron was united in marriage to Mary Jean France on August 2, 1958 in Tipton. He was a farmer for nearly forty years. Ron is survived by his four children: Jeff Emrich of Iowa City, IA., Karalee (Kelly) Cole, Solon, IA., Tobin (Shari) Emrich of Stewartville, MN, Steve Emrich of Tipton, IA., sister; Dorothy "Dottie" Petersen of Minnetonka, MN, 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jean Emrich on May 21, 2003, granddaughter, Maggie Emrich, brothers; Horace, Clifton, , Douglas, Russell, Lyle Emrich and sisters, Ethel Harden and Neva Brown.
