Listen to Obituary

Surrounded by the love of her family, Rose Marie Moeller, age 87, of New Liberty, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home.

Rose was born on July 23, 1938, in Edgington, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Marcelle (Oudot) Seligman. As the youngest of ten children, she was raised with strong family values, a determined spirit, and a deep appreciation for faith, hard work, and the simple joys of life.

On April 25, 1959, Rose was united in marriage to LeRoy Moeller in Bennett, Iowa. Together they built a life centered on family, farming, faith, and community. Rose was a devoted homemaker and farm wife who worked alongside LeRoy throughout the years while raising their five sons. She also worked many years as a secretary at the New Liberty Sale Barn and New Liberty Veterinary Clinic.

A lifelong horsewoman, Rose found great joy in riding and caring for horses. She was a member of Inland Riders and a lifetime member of the Cedar County Saddle Club. Trail rides with family and friends brought her happiness throughout the years. She had many cherished horses ending with Bubba, who was her faithful companion for nearly thirty years and held a special place in her heart.

Rose possessed a creative spirit and enjoyed crafts, painting classes, and drawing. Her artistic talents touched many lives, especially the children of the Bennett community. For many years, Bennett kindergarten students visited the family farm, where Rose welcomed them and presented each child with a hand-painted wooden farm animal she had created herself. She was an avid gardener whose flowers brought beauty and color to the farm where they lived. She also enjoyed baking and was especially known for her homemade sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls, delighting family and friends with her creations while teaching her boys their way around the kitchen.

Family was the center of Rose's world and her greatest source of pride and joy. She treasured every gathering, every visit, and every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. Whether sharing stories around the table, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying time together, Rose found her greatest happiness in the people she loved most.

Rose was a faithful member of Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett. She devoted countless hours to serving her church and community as a youth group leader, Bible School craft volunteer, and 4-H leader. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to encourage and help others.

Those who knew Rose will remember her strong will, determination, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, LeRoy Moeller of New Liberty; her sons, Duane (Lonna) Moeller of New Liberty, Russell (Amber) Moeller of Tipton, Brett (Liesa) Moeller of Bennett, Sean (Deana) Moeller of New Liberty, and Devin (Angie) Moeller of New Liberty; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Glen Seligman of Bettendorf; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Marcelle Seligman; her sisters, Marie Seligman; and Frances Pahl; and her brothers, George, Rene, Harry, Norman, Andy, and Bobby Seligman.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Rose will be cremated following the funeral service, and a private family burial at Inland Cemetery near Bennett will be held at a later date.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the funeral service at the Bennett American Legion Hall.
